VIRUS SHOOTER: A 2D EDUCATIONAL GAME FOR ANDROID

Abstract

The proponents developed a game entitled “VIRUS SHOOTER: A 2D Educational Game for Android”. The aspects of knowledge and entertainment are combined in the project. The game that provides knowledge and awareness about the different kinds of viruses, and how can they prevent it. As our technology improves even further, the different threats that cause serious damage to the user can also improve. One example of this kind of threat is a Computer virus. Computer viruses and attacks have been increasing in recent years. Computer Virus is a software program that is capable of corrupting or destroying the user’s data and is designed to spread from one to another. Most users today are unfamiliar with viruses even to college students who are studying computer programs. The lack of knowledge in viruses will risk the user’s data since they do not know if the actions they take may end up infecting their computer. In order to spread the awareness about this kind of threats, the researchers proposed a mobile game application that would provide knowledge of different kinds of viruses and its preventive measures. Educational games are games designed to provide entertainment to users while learning a certain subject and improving their skills as they play. This would prove that learning can be fun. The proposed project game, Virus Shooter, is an educational android game application that would allow users to play different kinds of computer viruses, which provides information about it, allowing the player to enjoy their game while learning.
