Abstract

Most of the student nurses look after the quality of nursing care based on the standards of the nursing practice and the how members of the health care team coordinates to provide care to patients. The objective of this study was to assess the perception of admitted patients in selected government and private hospital regarding the performance and quality nursing care provided by the student nurses of Baliuag University by determining their level of satisfaction. Descriptive- non-experimental design was utilized. Data gathering was conducted at Castro Maternity Hospital and Medical Center Inc. and Baliwag District Hospital in Baliwag, Bulacan from August 18, 25, 2017. The study population consisted of patients who were admitted at the time of data collection, patients aged >10 years old, stayed for at least 2 days, able to communicate and participate. Data was collected using a questionnaire. The statistical treatment of the data used was univariate analysis using frequency, percentage, weighted mean and total weighted mean that was presented in tables. Out of forty (40) eligible respondents, 27 respondents agreed to participate. Researchers concluded that the respondents were more than satisfied in the care rendered by the BUCN nursing students.
